Creative throughout his life, Tom Brennan's artistic talent and experience show in his work. He began making things from ordinary materials at age two. Inspired by his mother, Lena Agnes McCarthy Brennan, he drew prodigiously due to her guidance.
Among his early sketching endeavors at age 5 were cartoons and scenes based on radio descriptions. He then progressed to pencil drawings of famous personalities around age seven. Next, the young artist completed two 8' x 4' wall murals while simultaneously finishing several portraits in oils. He made the front page of the home town newspaper for these large mural projects when he was ten years old.
He has been creating numerous paintings and portraits ever since.
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, his Masters Degree in Public Administration, and his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership. He and Alison have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They have two daughters and a son (Rachel, Noel and Emily).
He has completed a career of three decades as a Maine educator. He now paints full-time at his Robbinston, Maine studio. Today, Tom Brennan brings considerable experience to every painting. His work has been featured in several solo-exhibits, reproduced as fine art prints, and is becoming highly collectible as a popular Maine artist.
Every week, Grandson Parker visits Tom and they always have a blast. Inevitably they make something like the poster pictured above for the annual family gathering at Christmas. Parker is already showing artistic talent and is constantly making amazing drawings.
